Getting Started

Canine Meal Kits are designed to simplify homemade feeding without worrying about missing nutrients or overcomplicating the process.

A Simpler Way to Feed Fresh

Most homemade dog food starters require you to research various recipes, buy all of the different ingredients, dice, chop, and measure everything.  Even then, obvious nutrients are missing and you’re constantly second-guessing whether your meals are truly balanced.

Canine Meal Kits are a better option.

The kits are thoughtfully formulated to include everything you need, except meat and water, so you can focus on feeding real food while knowing your dog is getting what they need.

  • No complicated recipes
  • No nutritional guesswork
  • No vegetable prep
  • No long ingredient lists to manage

How It Works

Preparing your dog’s food is simple. Everything is pre-measured for you.

  1. Combine meat, water, and veggie mix
  2. Cook approx 20 minutes, then cool
  3. Add nutrient pack
  4. Mix thoroughly, portion appropriately, and serve.

That’s all it takes to create a fresh, complete meal.

Flexible for Your Dog’s Needs

Every dog is different and their food should reflect that.

Our Canine Meal Kits are available in a variety of vegetable and grain friendly bases to support  everyday feeding and more specific dietary needs.

This flexibility allows you to choose what’s best for your dog without starting from scratch each time.

Tips & Tricks

Preparing your dog’s meals is easy, and after making a batch or two it quickly becomes routine.

Choose the Right Pot Size

For the best results we recommend:

  • 5-quart stock pot for small 4-5# batches
  • 10-quart stock pot for large 8-10# batches

Using the appropriate size pot makes stirring easier and gives the ingredients plenty of room to hydrate as they cook.

Start with Ground or Finely Diced Meat

Ground meat or finely diced meat cooks the most evenly and blends beautifully throughout the finished food.

Don’t Cook Away the Water

This is the most common mistake new customers make.

After about 20-25 minutes, the meat is usually fully cooked, but you’ll likely still see quite a bit of liquid in the pot. This is completely normal.

Our vegetable blends are specifically designed to absorb that moisture as the food rests and cools.

If you continue cooking until all of the water evaporates, you’ll end up with a smaller batch and vegetables that don’t hydrate as intended.

Instead:

  1. Cook until the meat is fully cooked (usually about 20-25 minutes).
  2. Remove the pot from the heat.
  3. Cover it and allow it to rest while it cools.

As the food gradually cools, the vegetables continue absorbing moisture. This process continues even after the food has been refrigerated, and any small amount of remaining liquid is absorbed within the first several hours.

Trust the process, the water belongs in the recipe.

Add the Supplements After Cooling

Once the food has cooled to approximately room temperature, it’s time to add the supplements.

Each supplement packet has already been measured for your specific batch size.

Simply:

  • Empty the entire supplement packet into the food.
  • Stir thoroughly until evenly mixed.
  • Your food is now complete and nutritionally balanced.

Storing Your Food

Fresh food can be stored in the refrigerator if it will be fed within the first 3-4 days.

If you’re preparing multiple batches, many customers like to portion the food into meal-sized containers and freeze them for later use.

Glass storage containers, such as Pyrex®, work especially well because they’re durable, easy to clean, and convenient for thawing and serving.

You’re Ready!

That’s all there is to it.

Fresh homemade feeding doesn’t have to be difficult. With quality ingredients, pre-portioned meal kits, and balanced supplements, you’ll spend less time worrying about nutrition and more time enjoying the satisfaction of knowing exactly what you’re feeding your dog.

Preparation Ideas

With Canine Meal Kits, meals stay consistent while your protein choices can vary.

Raw Beef with Healthy Dog

We wanted to keep the meat raw, but not go full-on ancestral diet so we just cooked the veggie base, and when it cooled, we added the meat and nutrient packs.  When using raw meat, I recommend adding .5 lbs of meat per 5# batch or 1 lb of meat per 10# batch to offset for the increased water content.

Baked Ground Turkey with Ultra Limited

Over the years we’ve seen large numbers of dogs suffering from allergies and digestive sensitivities.  This combination is one of our best sellers using minimal ingredients and lean meat.

Baked Ground Chicken Thighs with Puppy Kit

The challenge with feeding homemade food to growing puppies is often times the cost.  They eat more and they need more nutritional support.  Ground chicken thighs paired with our Puppy kit makes this an excellent choice.

You’re creating fresh meals with real ingredients without needing to build recipes from the ground up.

Why Balance Still Matters

Feeding fresh food is truly beneficial when it’s done correctly.

Many homemade diets lack essential vitamins and minerals, which lead to deficiencies over time; even when meals look healthy.

Canine Meal Kits help bridge that gap by providing a complete base of all essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals needed to support long-term health.

Built for Real Life

We created Canine Meal Kits for dog owners who want to feed better but need a solution that fits into everyday life.

Whether you're feeding one dog or multiple, rotating proteins, feeding raw, grain-free or grain-friendly, or maybe your managing special dietary needs, this system is designed to be:

  • Simple to follow
  • Adaptable
  • Affordable

Not complicated.  Just real food, done right.
